Judy O'Grady MEd, MSc, BE, EMCC Dip, ITEC Dip, Capt Rtd. is a registered Mindfulness Teacher with the Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland (MTAI). She began her training as a Mindfulness Teacher in April 2022, but has been practising meditation and mindfulness since 2006. She is committed to adhering to the Good Practice Guidelines developed by the Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland, which includes a commitment to daily meditation and mindfulness practices, attendance at retreats, ongoing professional development and in being supervised in her teaching.
Judy initially qualified as a Civil Engineer at UCC in 2000. She then worked as a civil engineer at consultancy level for three years, prior to joining the Defence Forces where she served as an officer in The Corps of Engineers. She served a total of thirteen years in the army where she held leadership positions as both Platoon Commander and Company Commander at home and in dangerous overseas deployments. Whilst in the Defence Forces, Judy became a Chartered Engineer and completed a MSc. in Fire Safety Engineering.
In the last decade Judy qualified with a Masters in Education, becoming a Maths, Applied Maths, Physics and Graphics teacher with Hibernia College. In addition to her teaching roles, she now holds an Assistant Principal position in a post primary school in Cork City.
Judy is also a registered coach with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). She also has additional qualifications in Reiki and Personal Training.
